Technorati started to update my blog again!

If you don’t already know, my blog suffered from the “technorati mood swings”, where it states that my blog hasn’t been updated for more than 50days. It seems that I’m not the only onewho has this problem.

Until now, I don’t know what happened and what to do as technorati won’t update my blogs, though i’ve ping them each time I write new post. But last night, I was hit by a pleasant suprise, my blog was updated by technorati 7 days ago, and all my post within that 50days period is included in technorati.

God knows what happened behind the technorati engine, but I wrote this as a reference to other bloggers. Do not give up if technorati stopped updating your blog, they might just have a minor hiccups. Your blogs will be updated by them eventually.

ICCL comic is back online!

After a long hiatus, my favorite online comic (written by apz) is back online! It came back online somewhere around February 2006, I just realise it today!

ICCL is geeky comic about computer technician, and it’s story focuses around Simon Freeman and Deirdre. I like ICCL because I feel like the character Simon close to myself as both of us prefered to be slackers (I mean, voluntarily unemployed). It’s an entertaining comic. Actually, the comic inspires me to switch to Debian GNU/Linux after I fail to use Fedora Core “properly”.

New readers should start reading from Chapter 1/Genesis

SimplyMEPIS switches from Debian to Ubuntu (Dapper) as its base

SimplyMEPIS

MEPIS, the company behind the SimplyMEPIS Linux distribution has made decision to use Ubuntu instead of Debian as the base of it’s distribution. The decision is made base on the predictability of Ubuntu six month release cycle that will enable MEPIS to offer its customers a dependable release schedule.

Currently, SimplyMEPIS 6.0 alpha1 release has already incorporated Ubuntu Dapper software and modifications, including SystemSettings from Ubuntu project. SimplyMEPIS 6.0 is scheduled for final release around June 1, 2006, around the same time as Ubuntu Dapper Drake release date.

Some of my searches interrupted by Google Server Error on April 17

Well, ain’t this just cute. My searches was interrupted by Google Server error 502 around 6:15pm MYT (that’s 10:15pm GMT). No real damage was done, I just have to switch my search engine to Yahoo for my research.

p/s : Compared to Google.com dns failure last year that leads unsuspecting people worldwide to a domain parking service, this incident was minor to me, it is just the case of switching engine.

What a boring weekend, and my blog has moved to Interunix

Yeah, It’s a boring weekend for me with nothing much to do. My hens are laying eggs like crazy, like 6-10 eggs per-day (I’ve 10 hens). It becomes my chore to pick their eggs up as I do not wish to breed more chickens as I already have 12 adult chickens plus 16 chicks more in the hen house.

There’s always heavy rain complete with thunder & lightning during the late afternoon in Alor Star, preventing me to go out for a fresh air or to get online, this because my house/pc aren’t shielded by surge protectors. I hate to think what would the lightning do to my pc when it strikes home, so I better sacrifies recreational time rather than taking chances

By the way my website has moved to another provider again, this time with Interunix. Now I’ve more space, more bandwidth and less users, eliminating the bottleneck of limited bandwidth. I hope that you can access my website without any interruptions from now on. Interunix service and customer support is excellent, I do get important announcements via sms-es from them time-to-time.

p/s : I might come up with a spin-off blog, since I’ve spend a lot of time on developing applications for mobile phone/handheld device. The spin-off might feature stuffs/mistakes/pitfalls that I’ve made during my time spent on programming those devices.
