The Pirate Bay is back online!

Sail ho! The Pirate Bay is back online! It appears that despite from the unfortunate incident, The Pirate Bay managed to get back online in a very short time.

The title of the website however has been altered to “The Police Bay”, perhaps to mock the police after they raid THB datacenters without a legal reason.

The Swedish police website was down soon after that, as a sign of protest from hackers around the world.

It is unknown whether The Pirate Bay website has been brought up using their usual main server or a backup mirror.

Upgrade from Breezy Badger

If you already have the previous version of Ubuntu Installed (Breezy Badger), then you just need to change ‘breezy’ to ‘dapper’ in /etc/apt-get/sources.list.

Then do

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

And wait for your Breezy Badget to transform into Ubuntu Dapper Drake!

The Pirate Bay website has been shut down for investigation

ThePirateBay.org website has been shut down by Swedish police after a raid has been conducted at their datacenter. The Pirate Bay is charged for breach of copy-right law, alternatively assisting breach of copy-right law.

The Pirate Bay is one of the famous bittorrent directory/tracker website that openly shows defiance to authority by displaying cease and desist letters directed to them.

Ubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake Guide

Ubuntu Dapper Drake is around the corner, what could be more great than reading some how to guide to use this GNU/Linux based operating system?

The guide i’m talking about is created in the form of wiki and hosted by krazypenguin.net. Overally, the guide tends to be a comprehensive book written for Ubuntu Dapper Drake.

It started off by explaining the objective of the guide, getting started with Ubuntu, how to add repositories, how to update Ubuntu and the usual misc “how to enable xxx feature” (such as mp3, dvd playing capabilities, installing Windows application, user administration, cd/dvd burning, networking, rescue mode, administrating server and many more.

Why Do Chicken Like Dust Bathing ?

Chickens need to “bathe” in a dry, dusty material in order to keep their skin and feathers in good shape. Sometimes you may want to encourage them to do this activity in a certain spot. This can be done by tossing a handful or two of fireplace ash or sand in the area you want them to bathe.
