AcronymFinder.com sucks, use it only as your last resort

I don’t know about you guys, but I found that AcronymFinders.com service is suck beyond my level of tolerance. First of all it can’t find the most trivial acronym, and secondly its result are too damn commercial-oriented. Instead of listing the most obvious and relevant acronym, the AcronymFinder list the acronym which has the most commercial-value.

Why? Because their result page feature links to amazon.com product finder, they are cashing in the visitor by supplying commercial oriented result! Now that’s annoying.
I suggest that people use Answers.com instead for finding acronym, not that Answers.com feature less advertisement, but because Answers.com supplies relevant acronym that is not too commercially oriented. Hopefully somebody would came up with another useful website for finding acronyms.

After managing to locate the comments box between all the adverts.
I would say just use google?
You can type in the query box:
define:word
Including acronyms, as such:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=define%3AGNU&btnG=Google+Search
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&q=define%3AFUBAR&btnG=Search
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&q=define%3ANBA&btnG=Search
Etc.
Google = thx.

I’m not against advertisement as I pointed out with Answers.com, but I’m pretty dissapointed with commercially-oriented result, there’s a different there, advertisement is everywhere in the web including in google.com.

Maybe you should take another look. Acronym Finder just improved their search results. Plus, they have FAR more entries than answers.com or any other site.
